I would like to know which game engine you used in creating this game?

Awesome game, voice acting and story is great,it's not really a horror game, but i liked how mysterious it was,5\5

I LOVED this game! The art style, the music and ambiance... everything! 5/5

Had me feeling like a dunce the whole gameplay lmaooo but once you figure it out, it's like DUH!!!! Shout-out to the developer, team, and musician that wrote and sang the song! Yall put ya foot in this one!

Hey boringsuburbandad, let's have dinner... and let me be the cook!

My name is Andrea Contino, a freelance translator who moonlights as a horror aficionado. With three years of experience in conjuring captivating translations, I recently stumbled upon your chilling masterpiece, "Dinner with an Owl." Let's just say, I was hooked like an owl in a well-baited trap!

As a fervent fan of your darkly delectable creations, I would be honored to lend my linguistic skills to the Italian localization of "Dinner with an Owl." I'm willing to serve up my expertise PRO BONO, simply because I believe in the chilling brilliance of your game and want to ensure it sends shivers down the spines of Italian gamers. I'm a big fan of indie horrors and I've been playing a lot of them in the last decades!

If you're feeling adventurous enough to cross paths with this multilingual maestro (here’s my linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrea-contino-9408521b6/), please let me know the specific steps or requirements for this ghoulish collaboration. I'm ready to transform your terrifying tale into an Italian language experience that will have players clutching their covers and whispering "Oh my owl!" (NO PUN INTENDED.)

Thank you for reading my message, and I eagerly await the possibility of our hauntingly delightful collaboration. This could be scarily good!

Game on!

I did feel a lil dumb playing this cause I couldn’t figure it out at first but I gave me a great AHa moment! Some of the most clever writing in a game I’ve experienced in a while! Thank you!

Today, I played Dinner With An Owl.. Quite fun. Was getting discouraged, till I figured out what just to do..

Hey boringsuburbandad, some years back I played your previous games "Writers" and "Pulse and Shields" and I can't seem to find copies of them anywhere.  You should really re-release those on itch.io, as I loved them both, and think that more people should play them. Writers especially has stuck with me for the surreal, nightmarish horror that it evoked. You are an incredibly talented game developer, and I'd hate to see all of your hard work go unnoticed.

Hi there, and thank you so much for appreciating my older games. That really put a smile on my face. I also think that especially Writers should not be forgotten. But there is a certain aspect in it, that I don't like anymore. Maybe someday I'll find the time to change this detail and rework some of the dialogue. Rest assured, that your post really got me thinking about it again.

there's time loops. there's a cool story. there's a fancy owl. what more needs to be said?

Genius

A beautiful experience with wondeful voice acting , story and music  ! was taken back at how much I enjoyed this game Please keep up the Wonderful Work !

Thank you for this great game!

You can check my full game playthrough here:

This game is great, but the voice acting and the change of song made the game less creepy, and more made me laugh. Love the art style and the concept, but the tone is different to the original.

I made it in  7 day, is there a quicker way to play this ?

7 days... not bad i guess... what is the shortest route?

This is a unique and bizarre game. First impressions itself i knew it was gonna be a banger. Loved the owl's voice actor and overall everyone in general. The game wasn't too hard in terms of the puzzles as you do get get guided eventually. Good job devs keep up the good work and keep making more like these!

Great story and love the music!

Very cool love the twist about the mystery of the owl

I loved this game.  The music and the atmosphere were excellent.  The owl suddenly breaking out into song was also amazing.

I speedran this game and would absolutely LOVE to see your reaction!

I got the World Record at 5:00(Five minutes). Previous speedruns were more than 5:10 (Five minutes and Ten seconds).

Trust me, this is a real speedrun. I didn't use TAS or any other special equipment, hardware, or software to speedrun this.

Still loving this game man.

Wishing you a great life and this game is a masterpiece

神作

This is such a beautiful game! I adore the art style, the music, and the creepy atmosphere. The only thing I could say negatively is that I want more of this enticing game.

I hope to see more of your work in the future (and maybe a continuation?)

Thank you so much for your comment :-)

Now that Dinner With An Owl is already a few years old, it's so cool that it's still played by somebody from time to time.

Regarding a new game: I make games since I was a boring suburban kid and I don't plan to stop. So be sure, there will be something new one day.

Have a nice day!

Glad to see that you gave your atmospherical adventure a new digital home on itch.io, because I think here may be more people that'll appreciate it for what it is: An odd, but fascinating gaming experience. :) The whole thing has such a neat "Twin Peaks" touch, the graphical style is stunning and I love the voice acting as well! Thank you for this. <3 That's why I included your game in our compilation article about the Adventure Jam 2017 as well as in the related showcase video along with two other great games. :)

Best wishes,
Sebastian

Very nice game! I liked the atmosphere, the feeling of being trapped with this odd owl-person.

This game is so atmospheric and full of mistery, I really like this story.

Thanks again for making such a beautiful game! I finished my Let's Play a while ago, but it still has left a lasting impact on me! I cannot wait to see what else you create! ♡ ♡ ♡

I can't say it enough: Your videos are pretty cool! Thanks a lot :)

I love the art style and story! I really hope to see more games from you in the near future and I'll be trying your other games as well! :D

Nice stuff, really liked the visuals.

*Rurr* I gave the game a shot, it looked intriguing, I'm also glad the ending wasn't some predictable 'Forever Limbo~' type of plots :P Had a fun time figuring it out, although as I played I made theories on how 'different endings' could have existed only for it to turn out linear, was a bit of a bummer only in the sense that it feels like this game or games like this would have numerous endings depending on your actions.

This game is... dark horror comedy is all I can say! Felt like we're in purgatory the first time I played the game. I almost thought it the entire game just keeps looping, but eventually I figured it out!
